La Romana is a village of around 2,500 people, located in the foothills of the sierra del Reclot a few kilometres from Algueña and several kilometres from Hondon de las Nieves and Novelda, within the autonomous community of Valencia in southern Spain.
The village is surrounded by countryside where you will find vineyards and almond groves. The area is also noted for the manufacture of marble and limestone. There are also number of cave dwellings situated around La Romana, with many having been converted into modern homes.
The town’s fiestas are held in the third week of August each year, with a fun parade held on the Thursday and the Moors and Christians parades on the Friday and Saturday. In the autumn there is also another gastronomic fiesta held in the park. Each week you will find a street market on Saturdays selling various items of local produce.
